few months ago I was part of the cast of the Mexican series of terror" 13 Fears. Here is a part of the chapter in which I participated. I must say that I liked was the characterization. Put in the hands of Roberto Ortiz and his team (especially for the kindness and talent of Francesca and Harry) has been quite an adventure. Roberto Ortiz has been responsible for the design of makeup major projects such as "Kilometer 31" and "Out of Heaven." It has also been part of the crew of Characterizing in "Apocalypto."

already had told them of how joyful it was my first appearance in a cultural activity in Madrid now that I'm over here. Well, yesterday evening I went to witness the closing of the 7 th Ibero-American Film Festival "La Chimenea de Villaverde. A day earlier, I could see one of the films in competition: THE OTHER SIDE , Mexican Gustavo Loza. And frankly, hoped to bring some recognition because I liked a lot. Sure, I was unable to attend the screenings and had no other references to judge. But if the winners are as endearing as I saw, it sure has been a festival of high quality.

Tristán Ulloa appears "right" in his role as friend of the painter protagonist, however, I keep feel uncomfortable. I had the feeling that he had been invited, putting a character forced to have a "name sign". Than others (and here I podeís cut throat) do not speak, because I fell asleep after 5 minutes of onset. I have also done many short films and "mediocremetrajes", so I understand that sometimes comes out well and sometimes badly. Do not blame anything its producers (Lili Valerio Cabrera and Scallops), because I know what it takes to build a small project it may be. What never ceases to amaze me is that the public have voted as the best. As I could not see the other, I'll shut up ... but if, as the spectators, it was good, then how would the others! ... Or is ... perhaps the public is satisfied with things which its plot promises to be "interesting" but then have no technical and artistic rigor?. If someone saw it and liked comenteme (or fusíleme).

THE OTHER SIDE caught me after a while (less than five minutes.) The first "but" (Paste) that I put, almost without realizing it, was dictated by prejudice, as Gustavo Loza studied at the Universidad Iberoamericana (in the "Ibero" it), not (as I wanted ubiera) CUEC or CCC. I said and I stress the mea culpa: a mere prejudice that made me believe that a "strawberry Ibero" would not be able to tell with sufficient fidelity and emotion 3 stories of immigration that appears in his film, and-as I - would be far from reality, not only of a private university graduate, but even some of the students in public film careers. Then I noticed the wall to see the beautiful way Loza, with a narrative similar to Inarritu-Arriaga in "Babel", is presenting three stories of children with immigrant parents in three different corners of the world, and when, almost without noticing it caught me and left "dumbfounded" by the freshness of the performances of all smaller than the star. Now I've searched a bit more about it I understand. Gustavo was the producer of the children's channel bar 11 (Strawberry nothing true and substantial content as long) as well as director of programming it. Seldom can see kids act so funny, but also with such dramatic intensity and clarity in the construction of a character. Nor is worth mentioning the excellent work of my friend IGNACIO GUADALUPE (I went at first to see the movie just to see the work of Nacho). But I also look very effective performances Hector Suarez, Vanessa Bauche, Susana González and Carmen Maura. The English Silke is the least liked (much stereotypical "junkie" and little truth in the face and gesture).

I do recommend THE OTHER SIDE, and I would have liked to see it succeed.

Isabel was encouraged to accompany me, and while waiting at the door of Cervantes in Alcalá street, I approached an old acquaintance ... "What a joy Rico, but to -Almost three years have not seen you!". Inside, more familiar faces made me remove the files from the memory and affections. The poet Tomás Segovia and his partner Ma Luisa Capella, always so loving, Henry and Alexander Krauss, just as I landed, Milagros, who was astonished to see me there ... It was as if they simply had not spent years and many things had changed since I went back to Mexico more than two years.

And there was Alexander, left side-groups, right-actor of the table looking with smiling that smile, expectant also I looked . I could not help but remember the first time I sat beside him to read in public in 2001. He had been appointed some time ago director of Mexico Instituto in Spain, an official body to represent the culture and arts of our country abroad. Alexander had been before as director of the Cultural Institute of Mexico City, where he promoted, among many other initiatives, " libroclubes" (book clubs that formed in neighborhoods with donations of volumes, where readings were aloud and other activities aimed to promote a taste for books). Alejandro himself participated in a club called "The Auras" where, sometimes accompanied by other friends read everything for everyone. Now I remember having seen how amazed years ago in Madrid, Alejandro, in a display of virtuosity , read (or should I say "played") in two unforgettable days of work "Pawns of a House" by Sor Juana the soliiito , you !!!... All the fun characters tangle of our Golden Mexican paraded through the voice, face and hands of Alejandro actor-reader who kept us and atentísimos Sometimes parties in our chairs laughing.
